Home of the Empire State, Central Park, Queen B and Jay-Z (My new besties, obvs!), where Harry met Sally and jazz in the park. Just a few of my favourite spots to hit in NYC over a few days because who ACTUALLY needs any sleep in the city that doesn’t, wait for it, sleep…

ONE

Katz’s Deli, Houston. A Jewish deli est. back in 1888 is a NYC icon. Predominantly famous for two things; Their killer pastrami sandwich and their scene in “Where Harry Met Sally”. DO YOURSELF A FLAVOUR!

Little Italy, Mulberry Street. Where the smell of fresh spaghetti and olive oil travel through the alleys, in and out of pizzerias and surround every delivery truck. If only these streets could talk!

The Burger Joint, NYC (Le Parker Meridien) was a gem! I’d been staying in the hotel and had no idea it was even there. Hiding behind red velvet curtains, from ceiling to floor, this is one of the best kept secrets in New York. Did I mention this is also the best burger in NYC, and Janet Jackson is a fan?

The beautiful Yankee Stadium! A dream come true, and what was even more, was that I had the opportunity to watch the Yankees take on the Red Sox. A moment that I’ll never get back, I’m almost certain!

FIVE

Central Park. The very heart of New York. I remember visiting the park as a kid but I never really understood the fascination of it until I returned recently. I made my way to The Mall where I was initially meant to meet some friends. By the time I had got there, they had left but I wasn’t upset to waste time in the park. As I walked into The Mall (Literary Walk), a three piece band was playing my all time favourite song… La Vie En Rose by Edith Piaf. I found myself caught in a moment, and I refused to get out of it.

An Empire State of mind, and not one bit ashamed! If there’s one thing you should spend time doing, it’s seeing the city at sunset. I chose to see it from atop the Empire. You won’t be disappointed.

New York is just as breathtaking from the sky but it’s also incredible from the Empire and the Hudson. I was fortunate enough to see the epic NYC from every angle, and all I’m saying, is that she has great angles!

EIGHT

The High Line… Tucked away just above the city streets, you’ll find an abandoned railway, which has been converted into a beautiful garden. Take some time, stroll along the High Line and appreciate the serenity that is so hard to find in the city.

Cuisine… We wined and dined at some of New York’s best but some of my favourites that you need to check out are, Pigalles, Brooklyn Diner, Dos Caminos (Meat Packing District) and then a little Shake Shack. Because, well not everyone has the time for a reservation!

Lastly, the New York City Subway. Where people go to die, sleep, get home and most of all, go full psycho on you. It was definitely one of the high lights of trip and made me miss London. A part from the unbearable heat during summer in the Subway, it’s a super efficient system and there always seems to be entertainment! It’s genius!Sometimes, they even have a sense of humour!

Where are your favourite NYC hide-outs?
